Three hours and 45 minutes after the flag…

The Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai was a terrific event – the third great race in the three races so far this year. Nico Rosberg won his sixth consecutive victory, but he had to work for it in the early laps after Daniel Ricciardo managed to get his Red Bull into the lead at the start. Once he was ahead again, Rosberg left the field behind him and won by 37 seconds over the 56 lap race. It was a dominant affair but behind him there was plenty of action as the two Ferraris had to make up a mess at the first corner where they hit one another. Sebastian Vettel was luckier than Kimi Raikkonen and was able to chase back  to second, while Kimi had a bigger mountain to climb but still made it back to fifth. It was a good day for Red Bull, with Daniil Kvyat third and Dan Ricciardo fourth, a great drive after dropping back to 17th as the result of an early puncture. Lewis Hamilton started at the back, was hit in the first corner Felipe Nasr and had to pit for repairs. He raced by to seventh, which was a great recovery. Elsewhere Felipe Massa was sixth in his Williams, while the two Toro Rosso youngsters grabbed eighth and ninth, leaving the last point to Valtteri Bottas. If you can complain about F1 after three great opening Grands Prix, you are not looking at things in a sensible fashion.
